Assistant Director, Spring Training Ticket & Business Operations - Chicago Cubs; Mesa, AZ

Role

The Assistant Director of Spring Training Ticket & Business Operations will be responsible for developing and executing an organizational sales plan focused on ticket and partnership sales including, but not limited to, season ticket sales, premium sales, corporate hospitality, group events, and local partnership sales for Cubs Spring Training and other facility events. In addition, this position will be responsible for all facets of Ticket Operations at Sloan Park.

Responsibilities

•    Lead all Ticket Sales and Operations for Sloan Park and Chicago Cubs Spring Training events
•    Recruit, hire, and manage part-time ticket sales team and establish sales processes and metrics, to include lead management, sales tracking and customer service initiatives
•    Recruit, hire, and manage ticket office staff to include seasonal ticket office manager and associated staff
•    Responsible for developing an annual plan to maximize revenue for all advanced ticket sales products including season tickets, corporate hospitality, and group events
•    Develop and manage spring training ticket pricing strategy 
•    Oversee invoicing, payment processing, inventory management, fulfillment and delivery of tickets at Sloan Park in coordination with Chicago ticket operations
•    Work with tickets.com to build and manage events in Pro Venue ticketing system
•    Responsible for developing local corporate partnerships including, but not limited to, prospecting, negotiation of partner agreements, contracting, and activation
•    Implement spring training elements for Wrigley Field and Chicago Cubs partners
•    Manage marketing, communications and promotional efforts designed to drive ticket sales for spring training
•    Responsible for the development and execution of a special events business plan at Sloan Park

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelors degree from an accredited 4-year university
•    3-5 years sales experience in sports or entertainment industry
•    Prior history of demonstrated sales success and negotiation skills
•    Demonstrated understanding of ticketing operations at an entertainment venue
•    Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-motivate, and in a team environment
•    Demonstrated strong organizational, project management and leadership skills
•    Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
•    Experience preparing and managing operational budgets and revenue plans
•    Ability to work non-standard work hours with variable schedule, to include weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

•    2-4 years of experience directly hiring and managing a team
•    Prior experience using tickets.com Pro Venue platform and Salesforce.com
•    Experience dynamically pricing tickets using QCue or similar 3rd party application
•    Demonstrated experience in developing a sound business plan
