Corporate Partnerships Sales Manager - Olympia Entertainment; Detroit, MI

Overview:

Headquartered in downtown Detroit, in the heart of The District Detroit, Olympia Entertainment owns and operates the Fox Theatre, City Theatre and Hockeytown Cafe, and provides facility management services at Little Caesars Arena, DTE Energy Music Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre and Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill. The company also serves as the sales and marketing organization for the Detroit Red Wings and provides additional services to 313 Presents.

Job Summary:

The Corporate Partnerships Sales Manager will be responsible for assisting in selling of all advertising inventory and major sponsorships across multiple properties/platforms to the corporate sector. Inventory and sponsorships include all signage, media, print, promotions and merchandising. Also responsible for the overall management of several existing corporate partnerships including the development of new revenue opportunities, creating value added opportunities and mutually beneficial market activation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accountable for achieving sales/sponsorship targets/goals of organization
  2. Research, prospect and establish leads for corporate relationships through industry networking, use of third-party lead services, trade publications, and cold calls
  3. Prepare and deliver business proposals and presentations to existing and prospective clients
  4. Communicate status of sales/sponsorships with Vice President and service staff by providing weekly reports on sales activity and results to track individual performance, inventory and revenue
  5. Oversee, manage and implement all inventory contracts/agreements with assigned accounts
  6. Work closely with other departments within the organization on corporate partner related programs and cross selling opportunities including game operations, community relations, public relations, ticket sales, marketing and building operations
  7. Cultivate new corporate partner relationships and optimize existing accounts through outstanding customer service to drive sponsorship revenues and facilitate marketing partnerships
  8. Work closely with assigned corporate partnership marketing manager to ensure contractual fulfillment with an emphasis towards maximizing cross promotional opportunities
  9. Work game days and special events to entertain existing partners and prospects
  10. Assist in artwork/copy collection for signage, print and media from their respective client base when necessary

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required. Business or Sports Management degree preferred
  2. Minimum of 7 years of Sales experience required, sports and entertainment advertising/sponsorship sales strongly preferred
  3. Proven track record of sponsorship sales and handling multiple accounts with sales exceeding $2M is required
  4. Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills required
  5. Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends and holidays
  6. Self-motivated team player with a proven ability to work with aggressive individual and team sales goals
  7. Superior knowledge regarding the practices and principles related to the sale and implementation of corporate partnership
  8. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with corporate clients and co-workers
  9. Possess superior negotiation skills coupled with a net profit bottom line mentality
  10. Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Lotus Notes
  11. Ability to drive to and from client sales meetings
